Bummer

Sweet Levi is doing much better!
His congestion seems to be clear and he's coughing less and less.

However, with his antibiotic came the unfortunate side effect of diarrhea, and now he has a terrible diaper rash.
The poor baby is in so much pain when we change his diaper.
I can't stand it.  I usually cry with him.  You know that has to sting!
I've never seen him cry so hard.  Poor baby.
I told Kris I don't know which is worse, the ear infection or the rash.

I read to let the baby go without a diaper for a little while so you're not immediately putting a diaper against the rash.
So today I did just that. :)
I don't think he seemed to mind. :)
Laughing aside, please pray the rash clears soon!

Also today was a big day!  Levi received his first piece of mail.
Inside was a sweet card made by his friend Caleb.

How sweet to think of him!

Thank you Caleb, so thoughtful of you!  :)

Haircut: the result

So yesterday was the big haircut!
Kris took Jacob while Levi and I hung out with my mom.

When Kris came back, he immediately said, "that was a disaster!"
Jacob screamed the entire time.
Seriously, when will he get past this stage?

I figured this time might be different since they have a little airplane chair for him to sit it.
Nope!  Kris had to hold him down.  Needless to say, they were both covered in hair!

I tried taking his picture.

Finally got this...

Poor lady did her best!
I told Kris I hoped he tipped her well.
I'm sure she was glad to get that over with!

Say Cheese!

Jacob's daycare had class picture day last week.
They have always done just individual pictures, never a class, so I was super excited to see how it turned out!
{he is on the top row, second from the right}

The last few times they have taken pictures, I started just buying magnets instead of a package.
I mean, do I really need an 8x10, 5x7 and 18 wallets each time?
So now, all the pictures are magnets on my fridge.  Love it!
Oh, and I get a few extra for the grandparents.  Works out great!

Here is his individual photo (magnet) from last week's session

I don't even think this looks like him.
And I promise his hair did not look like this when he left the house.
Nevertheless, we are taking care of that today!

Brothers

Yesterday evening Jacob offered to feed Levi.
He did a pretty good job.
We had just gotten home from daycare, so Jacob's face is filthy.

I think someone found a new comfy spot :)

OK, I am making an appointment for tomorrow to get the wig cut.
I can't take it anymore.  He is THAT kid with the crazy hair!
Here's to a pleasant experience!
{now it kinda looks like a helmet}

Levi's Rough Week

So this has been a rough week for little Levi.
We took him to the doctor yesterday because he was not getting any better, and turns out, he has an ear infection in both ears.  He also has drainage like crazy so his new best friend is the nasal aspirator.
And he's drooling so much we have gone through every bib in the house, which makes for more laundry!

Despite all this, he still manages a smile.  Here he is headed out to the doctor

I remembered we had this little couch that was Jacob's at my mom's house, so we brought it over here with the intent to help Levi sit up better.

I think he likes it!  Something new!
{that's spiderman in case you are wondering}

And the day has come that I have been dreading.
I felt what's the beginning of his first tooth.
I got a little teary eyed.  I do not want him growing up!!

Way Back When-esday

Timeline:  October 2007
Age:  7mos
*thought I'd use a picture of Jacob at the same age of Levi.
I might need to get those overalls out :)

7mos

Levi today you are 7months old!
I know I am a broken record, but how does this keep happening?
I cannot believe how fast time flies!

Here is what you are up to these day:
*Not sure how much you weigh, but I would guess 18lbs
*Wear size 2 diaper, size 3 at night
*Wear 6-9mo clothes, but some of those are snug.  You wear a few 9months
*You love your baby food.  You've liked everything we've given you thus far, which includes green beans!
*You finally started rolling over from tummy to back and then back to tummy.
You ended up in the kitchen a few times!
*You can sit unassisted if we prop you up the right way, but you eventually tumble.  If you could sit up on your own that would make all our lives much easier.  But you do it when you're ready big boy!
*You love bath time and love to splash!  And you love to be wrapped up in the hooded towel.
*You come really close to saying hi after I say it to you.  Or is that just a coincidence?  :)
*No teeth yet!  Which makes for the best gummy grin.  Mommy's favorite!
*You love Jacob!  He makes you smile from ear to ear and can make you giggle!
*Even if I say so myself, I think you're becoming slightly attached to me.  Which can be good and bad.  :)
*You are still a great sleeper.  Knock on wood, we might get up with you once a week!
Thank you little man!

We adore everything about you!  You are the best baby ever!! (sorry Jacob, we still love you!)
Love you more than you can ever imagine!
p.s.  Levi has his first cold and terrible cough.
Even though it doesn't seem to bother him, it breaks my heart.
Prayers are appreciated!

p.p.s.  notice how he is now interested in the paper with the date?  he's getting more mobile.
i told kris his future monthly pics will only get worse, but in a good way :)

Hairy Situation

Jacob's hair is getting out of control.
We all think it looks like he's wearing a wig!
{he just ate a cookie, thus the dirty mouth}

It has a lot of wave to it, which he gets from me, which I got from my dad.
So I'm curious to see what it looks like grown out a bit.
Don't know how long we'll let it get, but look at that curl over his ear.  LOL!
What if he had a whole head of those?   :)

Snow Much Fun!

Yesterday we got about 4-5" of snow.
Daycare was closed, Kris went to work, I tried to worked from home.

It wasn't until 2pm that Jacob asked to go outside.
He put on his rain boots and rain jacket.  So funny!
I told him we would go out, but he needed to take a nap first.  I'm such a mean mom.  :)

When it was finally time to go out, I could not find his snow suit anywhere.
Uh what?  I didn't pay $6 for nothing!  LOL
Finally found it, and after 30mins of getting Jacob, Levi and myself ready, outside we went!

I bundled Levi up in this ever-so-cute coat that used to be Luke's then placed him in the bumbo on our patio furniture.  And why yes, those are his Christmas pajamas!

I wasn't sure what he would do, but he seemed to like it.

Jacob was a little hesitant.  I think he was afraid he would fall.
Here he is telling me he dropped Thomas and wanted me to find him.

Got him!

Being careful

I asked him to stand next to Levi so I could take their picture.
This is what I got.

We actually didn't last long outside.
Jacob was ready after 10mins, if that.

We came back inside and I put Levi in the jumperoo and noticed this.
Broke my heart!
{I immediately turned him around}  :)

p.s.  I think we're expecting more snow on Sunday.
If so, I want Kris to help Jacob build a snowman. :)

Let's Roll

Sweet Levi is really starting to roll.
He will roll over and over and over.
It's so fun to watch!

Somehow he managed to get under his activity table.
Almost looks like he backed himself in.

I love how his bib is turned around to look like a cape. :)

Love you sweet baby!!

Eeewwwww!

Who needs a mop...

when you have...

LEVI!!

GROSS... I KNOW!!!!

Lukie Visit

This is after a bath tonight.
He loves his feet!

Also tonight, we watched Lukie for a bit.
He was so sweet, every time I would walk into a room where he was he would say, "hi Sissy."

He and Jacob enjoying dinner.

Even in the midst of chewing, he managed his infamous smile.

This little boy is so silly!

I called him Levi a couple of times by accident and he was quick to remind me Levi went night night.

It was good to have you tonight Lukie, come back anytime!

Our Weekend

Today my office was closed for the MLK holiday, so Saturday morning we headed to my parents house for the weekend.  Beth and her kiddos joined too, and my cousin Shelby drove down from Memphis as well, so their house was full of family.

Once we arrived in town, we headed to Stoby's for lunch!  Always fun with kiddos!  Then we headed to Meme and Papaw's house.  My dad was over at his neighbor's house on the 4wheeler.  Oh goodness!
Jacob couldn't get out of his car seat fast enough.
When Beth opened her car doors you could hear Luke squealing!!
{we bundled them up like it was 10degrees out, but it actually was a nice day}

Mom and Dad's house immediately turned into a daycare!
Here Jacob is see-sawing with his 2nd cousin, Kayla.
Look at Luke in the background!  :)

Trying for a family photo after church.  Guess Meme doesn't know how to center a camera :)

I thought Levi looked precious in his sweater.
This was Jacob's too, as well as shoes.  :)
But his pants are new :)

Takes all I have not to squeeze him!!

And I just have to show you the back of his sweater!

Me and the hubs

And my much older sister!  :)
Just kidding, she's just 21mos older!
You know I love you, Bayeth!!!

On our way home

We had a crazy weekend!  Good to see everyone!
So sorry I didn't get any pictures of Shelby.  I know she was busy taking pictures herself.
I know she got some good ones I'll try to get.
Let's just say Jacob found Meme's makeup again!  Sheesh!

Oh, and Kelley, I thought about contacting you, but there just wasn't enough time on this trip.
Maybe the next! :)

80's Lady!

As you read back in November, I turned 35yrs old.  YIKES!
That makes me a child of the 80s!!

I love everything about the 80's!
Beth still makes fun of me because I prefer 80's music over that stuff they call music today.  LOL!
I know most of it is cheesy, but it immediately takes me back to when I was 11yrs old mowing the yard with headphones or roller skating every Saturday 12-4pm.  :)

Also I love 80's movies!  I am watching Mr. Mom as I type!  :)
Please tell me you've seen Three Fugitives

This is one of the funniest movies!!  Beth and I watched it over and over growing up and we would laugh until we cried.  I haven't seen it in so long, and I just asked Kris if he had seen it and he said no.
What the what!?!?!
An even better reason to watch it again!!

From the moment I saw it, I loved Martin Short.  He is so funny off camera and a great comedian!
Well guess what...  he is coming to the Walton Arts Center and I bought Kris and I tickets.
Yes, we are going on a date to see Martin Short!

I am uber excited!!  I cannot wait (show isn't until 2/15).
Kris thinks we'll be the youngest ones there, but I don't care.  :)
I don't think you can go wrong, you are guaranteed a good laugh!

What we've been up to

Chewin' on toys...

Being cool...

Staying in the bathtub too long...

I hope everyone is staying warm.
The low tonight is 6!!
Brrrrrr!!!
